One night, he asked for some yogurt. I wanted to get it for him, but before I could get out of my seat, he yelled, "Don't worry, Mama! I got it!" He then proceeded to slide a kitchen chair over to the refrigerator, open the door and grab a yogurt from the second shelf!
I was very impressed by my son's ingenuity and creativity! Just like every other mom, I think my child is a boy-genius! LOL! While it was quite comical, I knew I had to think about making adjustments for him so he wouldn't do this while I wasn't watching!
Some Facebook friends recommended that I move his snacks to a lower shelf in the fridge to make it easier for him to access. Great idea... and it worked! I also began pre-packaging snacks like crackers and trail mix so when he wanted those he could grab-and-go as well! I made a small section in the refrigerator door with yogurt, ketchup and his cup. Yes, I said ketchup... I'll share his love affair with ketchup later! Needless to say, I'm happy that my Sweet Pea's belly is full and he's happy that he can do it all by himself!
